Being an Adult

This is a phase that you can't deny.

When you still feel like you’re just a kid who still loves playing and spending time with your friends, then suddenly you’re forced to be an adult.

Sometimes you have to pretend to be okay when you’re not, just like you use a mask when you meet your friends and family, pretending to be happy.

When you realize that you have to be independent in all aspects, and you’re not ready. It’s a phase where you have to always be prepared for the worst case because adult problems are unpredictable.

Sometimes you feel alone among people, and you don’t wanna share your problems with others, choosing to keep them to yourself.

The topics when talking to your friends become more serious, like discussing work, marriage, and other adult matters. You still feel like you’re not ready for all of it, but you have to be forced to become an adult and face the real world, they said.

I just wanna say, 'be strong, be brave' to all of you who are facing adulthood. In this phase, life is like a roller coaster, so don’t forget to always be prepared for the worst things that may happen. Don’t forget to be happy and fully enjoy the present. Don’t overthink too much because overthinking can 'kill' you, seriously. Let it flow, let it be, that’s how life works. Life moves forward, and you’re not a kid anymore. Someday, you’ll be thankful for all the adult problems you’ve been through.
